Does Seedance Allow NSFW? What Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 Refuse, and the 18+ Alternatives
No. As of November 2026, the Acceptable Use Policy for BytePlus, the ByteDance business that sells Seedance to developers, rules out content promoting sexually explicit material across its AI services, and ByteDance’s launch post for Seedance 2.5 describes the content filters the model ships with. On SpicyHub AI, Seedance 2.5 and Seedance 2.0 both refuse adult prompts and uploads.
For 18+ video, use Spicy UNCENSORED Video (built on Wan 3.0) or HappyHorse 1.1. ByteDance isn’t absent from the 18+ side here, though: Spicy UNCENSORED, the 18+ image model, runs on its Seedream 5.0 Pro. Further down you’ll find why one maker’s image model takes adult work here while its video model doesn’t.

Adults 18+ only. Every character you make has to be an adult: one you invented, or a real adult who agreed to it. Minors are never allowed, in any art style. The Terms of Service set out the full rules.

Two ByteDance documents set the limits for Seedance. Both were read on 6 November 2026:
- The BytePlus Acceptable Use Policy (effective 30 September 2026) rules out obscene content and content promoting sexually explicit material. For its AI services it adds that you may not evade or bypass their content filtering, or steer them into producing content the policy forbids.
- The Seedance 2.5 launch post (6 August 2026) says ByteDance ships the model with content filters, attaches C2PA Content Credentials so platforms can recognise AI video, and uses technical controls that restrict making video from pictures or clips that show real faces.
Neither document offers an adult tier or an opt-in, so the answer is the same for Seedance 2.0 and 2.5, at any resolution and length.
What Seedance refuses on SpicyHub AI
Seedance takes more kinds of input than most video models, and a refusal can come from any of them:
- The prompt. Explicit wording fails, and so can a mild prompt that spells out where the scene is heading.
- First and last frames. A frame with nudity can stop the run on its own, however harmless the prompt.
- References. Seedance 2.5 accepts as many as 10 pictures, one guide clip of up to 30 seconds and an audio track. Any explicit one blocks the run.
- Real faces. Uploads that show a real person can be restricted even in a safe-for-work scene, under the controls ByteDance describes for Seedance 2.5. On SpicyHub AI, a refusal of that kind usually comes with its own message about a real person in the image.
When the refusal is about adult content, the failed result in the Video Lab says Seedance doesn’t allow it and offers a Switch to Spicy button, which reloads your prompt and first frame with Spicy UNCENSORED Video selected. Whatever the reason, the credits for a refused run go back to your balance, which matters with Seedance: a long 1080p take is among the most expensive runs in the studio.
Why ByteDance’s image model takes adult work here and its video model doesn’t
It looks like a contradiction: Spicy UNCENSORED runs on ByteDance’s Seedream 5.0 Pro and accepts adult work, while Seedance refuses it. The explanation is where the filter sits. Refusals come mostly from the filter run by the service that serves a model, so one model can behave differently from one route to the next.
SpicyHub AI runs Seedream 5.0 Pro through a route that lets adult fiction through, inside the hard limits every model here keeps. The routes available for Seedance filter adult content out, so Seedance stays a standard model on SpicyHub AI. The studio’s other Seedream model, Spicy Imagine Pro, is a standard model too, despite its name.
The rule that saves guesswork: go by the 18+ label, not by the maker. Switch the Image Lab or the Video Lab to Spicy mode and the model picker shows only the models that take adult work. Which AI models allow NSFW lists every model in the studio with its answer.
The 18+ video models, priced against Seedance
Five seconds of video, in credits, computed the way the Video Lab bills it:
| Model | 480p | 720p | 1080p | Adult content |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.5 | 50 | 115 | 280 | Refused |
| Seedance 2.5 with a 5-second reference video | 60 | 140 | 340 | Refused |
| Seedance 2.0 | 35 | 75 | not offered | Refused |
| Spicy UNCENSORED Video (Wan 3.0) | 40 | 75 | 145 | 18+, with sound |
| HappyHorse 1.1 | not offered | 100 | 130 | 18+, silent |
Per second, both 18+ models cost less than Seedance 2.5 at every resolution they share with it. What you give up is range. Seedance 2.5 runs 4 to 30 seconds and steers from reference images, video and audio. Spicy UNCENSORED Video also reaches 30 seconds and adds sound at no charge, but it steers from a first and last frame rather than references. HappyHorse 1.1 animates one still for 3 to 15 silent seconds.

Seedance for the safe-for-work scenes of the same character
Seedance 2.5 is built for long, reference-led scenes: up to 30 seconds in one take, steered by as many as 10 reference images plus a clip and audio. If your adult original character also appears in scenes that stay clothed, such as a chase, a festival or a trailer cut, those scenes can stay on Seedance while the 18+ ones move to Wan 3.0:
- Design the character fully clothed and save a sheet with front, side and back views. Spicy UNCENSORED or Nano Banana 2.1 both do this well.
- Open Seedance 2.5, add the sheet as a reference image and write the safe-for-work scene: “Anime style, the adult courier from the reference, late twenties, silver bob, navy flight jacket, sprinting across neon-lit rooftops in the rain, handheld tracking shot, distant sirens.”
- For the 18+ scene, render a still of the same character on Spicy UNCENSORED, then give it to Spicy UNCENSORED Video as the first frame. Spell out the motion, the camera and the sound: “The same adult courier, anime style, back in her lamplit apartment, peeling off the wet flight jacket and stretching on the bed, slow dolly toward her, rain on the window, a low synth hum.”
- Keep the hair, outfit and lighting words identical in both prompts so the two halves cut together.
The guide to animating adult anime covers motion prompts for the 18+ half in more depth.
Questions people ask
Does Seedance 2.5 allow NSFW?
No. ByteDance’s BytePlus policy, as of November 2026, rules out sexually explicit material on its AI services, and Seedance 2.5 ships with content filters. On SpicyHub AI it refuses adult prompts, frames and references; use Spicy UNCENSORED Video or HappyHorse 1.1 instead.
Is Seedance 2.0 any looser than Seedance 2.5?
No. Both fall under the same ByteDance policy and both refuse adult work here. Seedance 2.0 is simply the cheaper one, at 7 credits per second in 480p and 15 in 720p, for clips of 5 to 15 seconds.
Is there an uncensored Seedance?
Not on SpicyHub AI, and ByteDance’s policy has no adult tier for it. If a site advertises one, ask which model actually renders the clip. For adult video here, the 18+ models are Spicy UNCENSORED Video and HappyHorse 1.1.
Why does Spicy UNCENSORED take adult work if it runs on ByteDance’s Seedream?
Because filters sit with the service that runs a model, not only with the model. SpicyHub AI serves Seedream 5.0 Pro through a route that accepts adult fiction inside the hard limits; the routes for Seedance filter it out.
Which 18+ video model is closest to Seedance?
Spicy UNCENSORED Video (Wan 3.0). Like Seedance 2.5 it works from text or a first frame, runs up to 30 seconds and makes sound. It has no reference video or audio inputs, so carry your character over with a first frame made on Spicy UNCENSORED.
Am I charged when Seedance refuses?
No. A refused run fails, and its credits go back to your balance automatically.
SpicyHub AI’s 18+ rules in brief
- You need to be an adult under your own country’s law, never under 18, and the content has to be legal where you are.
- Every character is an adult, both by stated age and by how they look. Drawn and animated characters follow the same rule as photos.
- No sexual content involving a minor or a character who could pass for one. Accounts that try are closed and reported to the authorities.
- A recognizable real person appears only with their documented consent. That rules out celebrities, creators, coworkers and former partners. In a character swap, no real person goes in as the character, you included.
- No sexual violence, no lack of consent and no bestiality, even as fiction.
- Existing characters from anime, manga, games and film are someone else’s property, so create your own.
- Your results stay private to your account until you share them. What you post elsewhere is yours to answer for, under the law and that site’s rules.
SpicyHub AI doesn’t share ways around ByteDance’s filters, which its own policy forbids. For adult clips, use Spicy UNCENSORED Video or HappyHorse 1.1.
A short version only. The binding rules are in the Terms of Service.
