Selling Adult AI Art: What Patreon, DLsite, FANZA, Fanbox, Fantia and Gumroad Allow
Short answer, as of November 6, 2026: you can sell illustrated adult AI art on Patreon, on a page marked Adult/18+, and on the Japanese stores DLsite and FANZA, each with its own conditions. pixivFANBOX and Fantia don’t accept AI-generated works themselves, and Gumroad doesn’t accept sexually explicit products of any kind. Photoreal adult images of invented people are the hardest thing to place: Patreon rules them out.
This page is for people selling original, illustrated adult characters, the anime-style work SpicyHub’s 18+ models are made for. It makes no promises about earnings. Store rules change often, so open each store’s current terms before you publish; every rule below names its source.
SpicyHub AI is an independent service with no ties to the companies or products this page names; those names are trademarks of their owners.
Adults 18+ only. Every character you make has to be an adult: one you invented, or a real adult who agreed to it. Minors are never allowed, in any art style. The Terms of Service set out the full rules.
The rules, store by store
Read on November 6, 2026. Where a store’s own page couldn’t be reached, the source is named news coverage, and the source column says so.
| Store | Adult AI work | Photoreal people | Labels and limits | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Patreon | Allowed for illustrated or animated characters, on pages marked Adult/18+ | Only the likeness of real adults with documented consent; sexual activity between real or hyperrealistic people is not allowed | Explicit work sits behind a paid tier, and public posts and profile images stay free of nudity. Pages built mainly around access to a generator are not allowed. | Patreon Community Guidelines |
| DLsite | Allowed, on separate AI floors for all-ages and adult work since February 2024 | Not addressed in the announcements we read | Declare each work as AI-generated (AI生成作品) or partial AI use (AI一部利用); partial-AI works stay on the regular floors. Each circle has a monthly cap on new AI-generated works. | DLsite announcements, February 15 and 21, 2024 |
| FANZA Doujin | Allowed with labels | Not addressed in the coverage we read | AI labels required since 2022 and split into three since 2025 (AI生成, AI一部使用, AIアシスト), with AI-generated works kept off the main listings. At most three AI works per circle per month from mid-November 2025. | News coverage: Automaton West, October 2022 and November 13, 2025 |
| pixivFANBOX | Not allowed: AI-generated works are prohibited | — | In force since May 2023 | pixivFANBOX guidelines |
| Fantia | Not allowed in the work itself | — | Since January 22, 2026, AI may be used only for titles, thumbnails, post text and product descriptions | News coverage: Automaton West, January 19, 2026 |
| Gumroad | Not allowed: no sexually explicit products, AI-made or not | — | Gumroad points to the policies of its payment partners | Gumroad Help Center |
DLsite’s monthly cap was two works per circle when the AI floors opened, as Impress Forest Watch reported in February 2024. Seller guides written in 2026 quote different numbers, so check the figure in your circle’s registration screen before you plan a release schedule.
Making work that passes review
Adult work is reviewed by people, and AI work gets a closer look. These habits keep a set out of trouble on every store above that accepts it:
- Original characters only. Fan art of an existing series raises copyright problems everywhere, and many popular characters are canonically minors, which no store accepts in adult work.
- Unmistakably adult. Adult proportions, adult faces and adult settings such as an apartment, an office or a bar. Patreon asks that subjects be unmistakably interpreted as adults, and a stated age on its own doesn’t do that.
- Illustrated, not photoreal. Keep invented characters in a clear anime or painted style. Patreon allows hyperrealistic people only as the likeness of real, consenting adults.
- Mosaics for Japan. Japanese stores sell explicit work with genitals obscured, because of how Japan applies Article 175 of its Penal Code on obscenity. Apply the mosaic to the files you upload, at the strength each store asks for.
- Tame previews. Covers, thumbnails and free posts are public. On Patreon they must be free of nudity.
- Honest declarations. DLsite says it may refuse a work, or pause its sales, when AI use isn’t declared. Declare the way each store asks.
- No real people without their documented consent, and on Patreon never in sexual scenes at all.
Keep records of prompts, references and consent
If a store or a payment partner asks how a work was made, a record answers faster than memory. For each set you release, keep:
- The prompt and the model behind every image in the set, with dates.
- Every reference image you used, and proof you have the right to use it.
- A signed consent form for any real person who appears. Patreon asks for written consent on its own form for real adult participants.
- What you declared to each store: which parts are AI-generated and which you drew or corrected by hand.
SpicyHub keeps each generation in your account history with its prompt and settings, but history lasts 7 days on the Basic plan and 30 on Pro, with no limit on the larger plans. Download your finals and copy the prompts into your own records as you go.
Making a sellable set on SpicyHub AI
A typical set follows one original character through a run of images. To make one without wasting credits:
- Design the character on Spicy UNCENSORED at 2K (12 credits): front, side and back views of one adult on a plain background. Keep the best views as your reference sheet.
- Draft scenes with Wan 2.7 Image at 6 credits apiece, the sheet attached, and keep only the drafts worth finishing.
- Render the keepers on Spicy UNCENSORED at 2K with the sheet as references, calling the pictures Figure 1, Figure 2 and so on. It takes up to 10.
- Add mosaics wherever a store requires them, then write the AI declaration that store asks for.
- If you want a short clip for a members’ post, animate a final on HappyHorse 1.1 (from 60 credits) or on Spicy UNCENSORED Video, which adds sound (from 30).
| Model | Credits per image | € on Spicy Basic | € on Spicy Pro | € on Spicy Creator |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wan 2.7 Image | 6 | €0.10 | €0.083 | €0.074 |
| Spicy UNCENSORED 1K | 8 | €0.133 | €0.111 | €0.098 |
| Spicy UNCENSORED 2K | 12 | €0.20 | €0.167 | €0.148 |
SpicyHub’s terms make you the owner of your generations, as far as the licences of the underlying models allow. They also put the selling side on you: once you share or sell 18+ work, age checks, labelling, record-keeping and each platform’s rules are yours to handle. Nothing made on the mature models is used in SpicyHub’s own marketing.
Questions people ask
Can you sell NSFW AI art at all?
Yes, on some stores. As of November 2026, Patreon accepts illustrated adult AI work on Adult/18+ pages, and DLsite and FANZA accept it with AI labels and monthly limits. pixivFANBOX and Fantia don’t accept AI-generated works, and Gumroad doesn’t accept sexually explicit products at all.
Do I have to label my work as AI-generated?
On DLsite and FANZA, yes: both make you declare AI use, and AI-generated works are listed apart from hand-made ones. Patreon’s guidelines don’t spell out an AI label for illustrated work, but telling patrons how you make it is the safer habit.
Can I sell adult art of characters from an existing anime?
No. It infringes the rights holder’s copyright, many of those characters are canonically minors, and SpicyHub’s rules forbid it. Sell your own adult characters instead.
Can I sell photoreal adult AI images?
Not of invented people on Patreon: its guidelines allow hyperrealistic depictions only as the likeness of real adults who have documented their consent. The examples on SpicyHub stick to illustrated, anime-style characters for that reason.
Do Japanese stores need mosaics on AI work too?
Plan on it. Explicit work sold in Japan has genitals obscured whatever tool made it, and each store sets its own correction rules. Apply the mosaic before you upload.
Who owns the art I make on SpicyHub AI?
You do: the terms give you ownership of your generations, within the licences of the models that made them. You are also responsible for following the law and each store’s rules wherever you sell it.
SpicyHub AI’s 18+ rules in brief
- You need to be an adult under your own country’s law, never under 18, and the content has to be legal where you are.
- Every character is an adult, both by stated age and by how they look. Drawn and animated characters follow the same rule as photos.
- No sexual content involving a minor or a character who could pass for one. Accounts that try are closed and reported to the authorities.
- A recognizable real person appears only with their documented consent. That rules out celebrities, creators, coworkers and former partners. In a character swap, no real person goes in as the character, you included.
- No sexual violence, no lack of consent and no bestiality, even as fiction.
- Existing characters from anime, manga, games and film are someone else’s property, so create your own.
- Your results stay private to your account until you share them. What you post elsewhere is yours to answer for, under the law and that site’s rules.
A short version only. The binding rules are in the Terms of Service.
